History at the Indy 500 May 29th, 2016 was a historic day at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 brought in a sellout crowd with more than 350,000 people in attendance. The local television blackout was lifted so more people could watch in and around the city than ever before.
